Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Feature-length Movie Announced

During tonight’s Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix announced that they will be releasing a free full-length movie to accompany the Final Fantasy XV Universe. Titled Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, the movie will focus on King Regis, the last holder of a crystal in the world. War has raged between Lucis and Nifleheim for ages over this crystal, and King Regis has been forced into an ultimatum – his son, Prince Noctis, must wed Lady Lunafreya, a former princess who is now captive in Nifleheim.

Kingsglaive will feature an all-star cast, with three big names having been announced already. Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones) will be voicing King Regis, Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones) will voice Luna, and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) will voice Nyx. Take note that these voices have only been announced for the movie, and likely will not be voicing the same characters within the game.

You can find the trailer, as well as more information, on the official site, which is now open. Kingsglaive has been in production for the past three years, and will be available online (for free) before the release of Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy XV will be available September 30, 2016 for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can pre-order the Day One Edition for Xbox One/PS4 off Amazon, as well as the Deluxe Edition for both Xbox One and PS4. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition of the game is available exclusively from the Square Enix Store, and is also now available for pre-order.
