Kingdom Hearts 3D Mark of Mastery Collector’s Edition Announced

Square Enix has announced today that Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will be receiving a special “Mark of Mastery” collector’s box set. This marks North America’s first such collector’s edition.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D, Sora and Riku enter the Sleeping Worlds to complete their Mark of Mastery exams in preparation for an impending threat. They will encounter new enemies and new worlds on their quest to become true Keyblade Masters. Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] continues the tradition of engaging entertainment with new gameplay features along with the new worlds and creatures.

Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will be released in North America on July 31st. The Mark of Mastery edition will cost $54.99, with the regular edition costing $39.99.

A Look at the Chaos Shrine in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

The newest release of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy screenshots shows off the Chaos Shrine game mode. This game mode is unlocked by amassing enough Rythmia by completing field, battle, and event stages. Within the Chaos Shrine you can accept Dark Note challenge which randomly generate combinations of field and battle songs. Through the Chaos Shrine and Dark Note challenges you can unlock additional characters.

Dark Notes can also be shared through the 3DS’s Street Pass feature or through the 3DS’s Local Play.

Another Story: Final DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 Available Tomorrow

The final batch of DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 has finally been confirmed for North America by Square Enix. They have released the name of Snow’s DLC, pricing for all the DLC available tomorrow, and a short description for each piece.

Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield: Snow is engaged in battles at the Coliseum after being separated from his fiancée, Serah. The episode also features a battle against the “Arbiter of Time,” who has been watching events unfold at the Coliseum. Snow should pose a difficult challenge to players and will allow them to end the Coliseum battles on a high note, and ultimately unlock Snow as a party member.

Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess: This DLC reveals the arduous battle between Lightning and Caius not shown in the main game. Players will be able to adjust the difficulty level and play as Lightning, who uses special abilities available only in this episode. Players will also be able to unlock the Final Fantasy XIII-2 version of Lightning as a party member. Because the episode includes important information relating to the overall storyline of Final Fantasy XIII-2, players are encouraged to complete the game prior to playing through this new content.

The following DLC will be released on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 tomorrow:

Trailer Released for “Requiem of the Goddess” DLC

Playstation Hong Kong has released the trailer for the upcoming DLC featuring Lightning and Caius on their YouTube channel. Titled the “Requiem of the Goddess,” this DLC will be available tomorrow and is the Next Prologue on Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Newest Round of Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Dated for May 15th

It seems that Playstation’s Taiwan site has revealed their pricing for the upcoming DLC batch for Final Fantasy XIII-2, along with the reveal of the release date. While we don’t have an official announcement for Japan, North America or Europe yet, this is a good indication. Please note that the follow Japanese pricing is an estimate:

  • Snow and Valfodr: NT$152 (¥400)
  • Lightning’s Requiem of the Goddess DLC episode: NT$228 (¥600)
  • Serah’s White Mage costume: NT$114 (¥300)
  • Noel’s Black Mage costume: NT$114 (¥300)
  • Moogle 16 piece costume set: NT$114 (¥300)

We should hear word on other regions pricing, and if in fact they will be released next week, soon.

A Look at Character Progression in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

Square Enix has released a new set of English screenshots highlighting the character progression and menu’s in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

As you play through the game, you will be able to level up your characters and improve your skills by fighting monsters, exploring the world and completing events. Characters who have high Strength or Magic will be able to more easily defeat monsters in battle, high Agility will allow them to travel greater distances with an increased chance of finding treasures, and high Luck will increase the odds of finding rare items and will be able to avoid taking damage more easily. Each character has a unique set of abilities that also aid in completing the stages.

Continuing Theatrhythm Final Fantasy’s DLC releases, four more songs will be made available on May 2nd. The songs will cost 150 Yen each. You can sample the newest additions below:

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will be available in North America on July 3, 2012 and in Europe 3 days later on July 6th.

The official website for the next Piano Opera album has been opened up and includes the full track list. The Piano Opera series is another portion of the 25th Anniversary for Final Fantasy this year.

New Screenshots Featuring Dream Eaters in Kingdom Hearts 3D Available

Square Enix has released new English screenshots showing off the Dream Eaters in Kingdom Hearts 3D today. There are two different kinds of Dream Eaters: Spirits which accompany Riku and Sora during their journey, and Nightmares.

Kingdom Hearts 3D also utilizes the Nintendo 3DS’s AR function in which players can interact with the spirits in a multitude of ways including petting, feeting, and playing mini-games with them to improve the compatibility.
