Earlier this evening we reported that Final Fantasy VII was spotted within searches on Steam, hinting towards a Steam release very soon. Well, soon appeared to be that very same night! Final Fantasy VII has been officially released on Steam boasting many of the same features it did in the 2012 release. You can purchase the Steam version through this link for the same price as was featured on the Square Enix eStore, $11.99.

To back up your save files, remember to turn on Cloud Saving in the Network Settings panel on the FINAL FANTASY VII launcher. Uninstalling the game will delete any save files stored locally on your PC.
Of note, Final Fantasy VIII has also been found with some data on Steam including achievements. It’s possible we will be seeing a Steam release of Final Fantasy VIII PC sometime in the future as well!
