Square Enix has opened the official teaser site for the recently announced Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. The title is the follow-up to the 2012 Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for the Nintendo 3Ds. Curtain Call will also be on Nintendo 3DS and will have over 60 characters and more than 200 songs – including tracks from Final Fantasy XIV and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
The game will also feature a new Versus Battle Mode, allowing players to compete against other people. You can trigger special skills and actions to disrupt the other player during a song to achieve a higher score. There will also be new maps and boss battles along with the medley quests, once again giving the game a tie to the RPG genre. This is complete with various items you’ll be able to equip to your characters.
A Music Player and Theater Mode will also be added, allowing players to listen to the music and watch event scenes whenever they want. Profile cards are also being upgraded, though details are still unclear as to how.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is due out in 2014 in Japan, however a release outside of Japan is still unknown at this point. The game will be playable at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.
